Research Assistant, PhD Student
Md. Sakib Zaman is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering and has over 7 years of industry experience in software development. His interdisciplinary research explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Digital Twin and Smart Remanufacturing to advance sustainable engineering systems.
Yixin Zhao
PhD Student, Alumnus
Yixin Zhao is a Ph.D. student in Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. She completed her Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry from Sichuan University, China. Her research interests center around EV Battery Recycling and Electronic Waste management.
Hao-yu Liao
PhD Student, Alumnus
Hao-yu Liao is a Ph.D. student of Environmental Engineering Science (EES) at the University of Florida (UF). Before joining GETCOT lab, he was assistant research at National Taiwan University (NTU) from 2016 to 2019. He has a Master’s degree in Bioenvironmental Systems Engineering from NTU. Machine Learning Algorithms, Optimization Methods, and Data Analysis are among his research interests.
Xinyao Zhang
PhD Student, Alumnus
Xinyao Zhang is a Ph.D. student in Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. She completed her master’s degree in Construction Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering from Chang’an University. Her research interests focus on applying deep learning to human-robot collaboration in disassembling end-of-use products.
Victor Solal

Victor Solal is a Master’s student at the School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment at the University of Florida. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida. His research interests include Sustainable Design, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Science, and Virtual Reality.

Royce Velasco
Research Assistant, BS Student, Alumnus
Royce Velasco is a fourth-year undergraduate student of Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. She has prior experience in the industry as a safety intern for Kohler Engines and as a health, safety, & environmental (HSE) intern for Baker Hughes. Her research interests include corporate sustainability principles and sustainable design strategies.
Kyle Schroeder
Research Assistant, BS Student, Alumnus
Kyle Schroeder is a third year environmental engineering student. He currently interns at the United States Geological Survey (USGS) studying invasive species. His research interests include the repair and recycling of electronics.
Nicole Mallen

Nicole Mallen is a fourth-year undergraduate student of Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in the same field. Her research interests include data analysis as well as sustainable design and manufacturing.

Raymond Singh a third-year undergraduate student in Environmental Engineering Sciences minoring in sustainability studies at the University of Florida. His interests are centered around food waste, the future food system, and the sustainable techniques involved.
