Yixin Zhao

Yixin Zhao

Research Assistant, PhD Student

Yixin Zhao is a Ph.D. student in Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. She completed her Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry from Sichuan University, China. Her research interests center around EV Battery Recycling and Electronic Waste management.


Hao-yu Liao

Hao-yu Liao

Research Assistant, PhD Student

Hao-yu Liao is a Ph.D. student of Environmental Engineering Science (EES) at the University of Florida (UF). Before joining GETCOT lab, he was assistant research at National Taiwan University (NTU) from 2016 to 2019. He has a Master’s degree in Bioenvironmental Systems Engineering from NTU. Machine Learning Algorithms, Optimization Methods, and Data Analysis are among his research interests.


Shuaizhou Joe Hu

Shuaizhou Joe Hu

Research Assistant, PhD Student

Shuaizhou Hu is a Ph.D. student at the School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment at the University of Florida. He has an MS degree in Transportation with Minor in Statistics from UF and BS from Chang’an University in Traffic Engineering. His research interests include Sustainable Design, Machine Learning, and Product Lifecycle Engineering.  


Karthik Boregowda

Karthik Boregowda

Research Assistant, PhD Student

Karthik Boregowda is a Ph.D. student in the Environmental Engineering Sciences. He is an M.S graduate with an emphasis in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India. His research interests include Sustainable Design, Artificial Intelligence algorithms, and Remanufacturing. 


Xinyao Zhang

Research Assistant, PhD Student

Xinyao Zhang is a Ph.D. student in Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. She completed her master’s degree in Construction Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering from Chang’an University. Her research interests focus on applying deep learning to human-robot collaboration in disassembling end-of-use products.


Victor Solal

Victor Solal is a Ph.D. student at the School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment at the University of Florida. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida. His research interests include Sustainable Design, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Science, and Virtual Reality.

Royce Velasco

Royce Velasco

Research Assistant, BS Student

Royce Velasco is a fourth-year undergraduate student of Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. She has prior experience in the industry as a safety intern for Kohler Engines and as a health, safety, & environmental (HSE) intern for Baker Hughes. Her research interests include corporate sustainability principles and sustainable design strategies.

Research Assistant, BS Student

Kyle Schroeder is a third year environmental engineering student. He currently interns at the United States Geological Survey (USGS) studying invasive species. His research interests include the repair and recycling of electronics.

Nicole Mallen is a fourth-year undergraduate student of Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in the same field. Her research interests include data analysis as well as sustainable design and manufacturing.

Raymond Singh a third-year undergraduate student in Environmental Engineering Sciences minoring in sustainability studies at the University of Florida. His interests are centered around food waste, the future food system, and the sustainable techniques involved.
